ventricular rhythms Flashcards
Ventricular Escape Rhythm aka idioventricular rhythm
rate: 20-40bpm rhythm- regular P wave: none P:QRS- None PR interval- None, QRS width- 120> ms (0.12sec) WIDE.
accelerated ventricular rhythm
rate: 40-100 rhythm- regular P wave: none P:QRS- None PR interval- None, QRS width- 120> ms (0.12sec) WIDE.
ventricular tachycardia-monomorphic
rate: >100 rhythm- regular P wave: none P:QRS- None PR interval- None, QRS width- 120> ms (0.12sec) WIDE.
polymorphic ventricular tachycardia
rate: >100 rhythm- irregular P wave: none or complete AV disassocaition P:QRS- None PR interval- None, QRS width- 120> ms (0.12sec) WIDE.
torsades de pointes
rate: 200-250bpm rhythm- irregular P wave: none P:QRS- None PR interval- None, QRS width- 120> ms (0.12sec) WIDE.
Torsades de pointes (TdP) is a specific form of polymorphic ventricular tachycardia occurring in the context of QT prolongation; it has a characteristic morphology in which the QRS complexes “twist” around the isoelectric line.
ventricular fibrillation
rate: inderterminate
rhythm: irregular, “chaotic”
P wave: none
P:QRS ratio: None
PR interal- none
QRS width- unidentifiable.
Ventricular flutter
Continuous Sine Wave
No identifiable P waves, QRS complexes, or T waves
Rate usually > 200 beats / min
Extreme form of VT with loss of organised electrical activity
Associated with rapid and profound hemodynamic compromise
Usually short lived due to progression to ventricular fibrillation
As with ventricular fibrillation rapid initiation of advanced life support is required.
