hypertrophy, atrial enlargements etc. Flashcards
1
Q
P pulmonale
A
Right atrial enlargement produces a peaked P wave (P pulmonale) with amplitude:
From Ekg book:
Amplitude of first portion (right atrium) increases- >
-> 2.5 mm in the inferior leads (II, III and AVF)
> 1.5 mm in V1 and V2
*NO change in width.
2
Q
P mitrale
A
-> Second portion of P wave (left atrium) amplitude can increase, so does the duration)
- > P wave negative delection in V1 should pass 1mm below isoelectric line.
- > Duration of P wave increases (1 block at least of last terminal portion)
3
Q
normal P wave
A
P wave duration is less than 0.12sec (3 small boxes) larget deflection (positive or negative) should not pass 2.5mm (2 and a half small squares)

Q
