A
- Platters that are not resolved, have a final hearing looked over by a VCAT member. Less formal than a court hearing.
- VCAT hearings do not usually follow strict application of rules
- The decision made is binding

Orders made by VCAT?
A
VCAT can make a wide range of orders to resolve disputes:
- requiring a party to pay money
- to do or to refrain from doing something
- orders are binding on both parties

Appeals regarding VCAT?
A
- parties can appeal against a decision made by VCAT only on a question/ point of law.
- appeals go to the Supreme Court trial decision, unless made by the VCAT president or deputy president, in which case they go to the trial division

-retail and residential tenancies, purchases of goods and services, discrimination, guardianship, domestic building works, registration of professionals.
