A
non-adrenergic peripheral vasoconsrtictor; Antidiuretic hormone (ADH)

Vasopressin: Mechanism of action
A
Stimulation of V1 smooth muscle receptors, potent vasoconstrictor when given in high doses.
(Used for strong Alpha effects when given during MI)

Vasopressin: Indications
A
Adjunct treatment for Diabetes
Unlabeled/ Investigational; Cardiac arrest situations caused by V-fib, pulseless V-tach, Pulseless Electrical Activity (PEA)
Alternate vasopressor to the first or second dose of Epi during a Cardiac arrest
may be useful in cases of vasodilatory shock.

A
Adult: 40 units, single dose only IV,IO to replace first/second dose of Epi during Cardiac arrest
NOT FOR PEDI…….NO REPEAT DOSES
