Vascular and Lymph Sys Flashcards
What do blood and lymph vessels develop from?
mesoderm
What are the two ways blood and lymph vessles develop?
- vasculogenesis (from blood islands)
2. angiogenesis (from pre existing vessels)
Where is the shift of blood cell production
yolksac (mesoblastic) –> liver/spleen (hepatosplenic) –> bone marrow (myeloid)
What are the two extraembryonic circuits?
- vitalline 2. umbilical
What do the vitalline arteries and veins do?
circulate blood to and from yolk sac
What does the umbilical artery do?
carry pooly oxygenated blood from embryo to chorion
What are pharyngeal arches composed of?
mesecheme core
What are pharyngeal clefts composed of
ectoderm
what are pharyngeal pouches composed of?
endoderm
What is the adult vessel that arises from arch III?
common carotid and 1st part of internal carotid
What is the adult vessel that arises from the left IV arch?
Arch of aorta
What is the adult vessel that arises from the right IV arch?
R. Subclavian
What arises from the left VI arch?
L. pulmonary and ductus arteriosus
What arises from the right VI arch?
R. pulmonary
What does the ductus arteriosus link? What is the purpose?
links pulmonary artery with aorta, it bypasses the lungs which are nonfunctional in the fetus (becomes ligamentum of arteriosus in adults)
