Varicous veins and chronic venous insufficiency Flashcards
What are varicous veins
Large twisted veins (usually in the leg)
How does it occur
Gravity causes veins to enlarge and this causes the valves to become regurgitated. This causes a backflow of blood and pooling, causing enlargement and twisting
Do they usually occur in superficial or deep veins

Hyperpigmentation, oedema, pruitis and pain
Risk factors

Treatment
