Varicocoele?
A
Dilated veins of the pampiniform plexus forming a scrotal mass.

Varicocoele aetiology?
A
due to venous incompetence, more common on the left.

Varicocoele epidemiology?
A
rare in <10, incidence increases after puberty, 15% of general population, associated with infertility.

Varicocoele symptoms?
A
usually asymptomatic, scrotum feels like a bag of worms.

Varicocoele signs?
A
patient must be standing on exam, the side of the scrotum with varicocoele will hang lower, do cough impulse

Varicocoele investigations?
A
check sperm count and do colour Doppler scan.
