Vander Flashcards
What does NE bind to on the kidney? Where? What are its actions?
Binds to Alpha-1 receptors in the tubules
- can cause constriction of afferent and efferent arterioles
What does ADH do to UT1 urea transporter?
Upregulates it
- this increases the interstium osmolarity and thus increases water resorption
What does increase in PTH do to phosphate?
Increases it secretion
- thus decreases serum phosphate levels
What does phosphate do in the filtrate?
binds to H+
- carrier of H+
- PTH released in response to acidosis
What and where does the affects of PTH have on Ca2+?
Increases adenylate cyclase
- increases Ca2+ resorption in the distal tubules
Where is mg resorbed at?
PCT
Thick ascending
Distal tubule
Does it compete with anything?
Yes Ca2+ in distal tubule
- Hypercalcemia leads inhibits Mg resorption
- Vice versa
What could one expect in the urine after treatment of torsades?
Hypercalciuria
What does ECF volume expansion result in in terms of HC03?
decrease Reabsorption
