- small/light
- minimal resistance
- available in multi part design
Disadvantages
- not suitable for sustained periods for throttling
- removing handle is not locking out

A

Advantages
- compact/require minimal space for installation
- light weight
- available in NPT 1.5 to 200 inches
Disadvantages
- throttling is limited from 30 - 80 degrees of the disc opening
- prone to cavitation or chocked flow when used for throttling
- turbulence will affect the movement of the disc
