valve positions and sounds Flashcards
Where is the anterior position of all valves?
all under sternum
except for mitral valve found in the left fourth and fifth costal cartilage spaces
Where is the pulmonary valve located?
highest valve found at the third costal cartilage
left lateral sternum
where is the aortic valve located?
below the pulmonary valve just below third costal cartilage
right lateral sternum
Where is the mitral valve located?
adjacent to the fourth and fifth costal cartilage
on the left side
Where is the tricuspid valve located?
adjacent to the 5th and 6th costal cartilage

at sternum on left side above above or below 6th intercostal space
What can the heart be divided into?
right and left atria
right and left ventricles
coronary sulcus
interventricular groove
What does the coronary sulcus divides?
atria and ventricles
what does the inter ventricular groove divide/
left and right ventricles
