- Split into two non-contiguous areas, including smaller sub-zones

- Low rainfall 450mm

- Mostly Moscatel de Alejandria and Merseguera

- When high vigour uncontrolled, produces low intensity aromoas, often blended. When dry farmed, can show concentration and texture (when matured in oak)

- 200-650m above sea level, warmer than Alto Turia
- Cooled by sea breezes
- Diverse range of local & international varietes;
- Garnacha Tintoerera (Alicante Bouschet), Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Monastrell for red & rose
- Merseguera and Macabeo for white wines

- 85% is made by local co-operatives in fruity, immediate consumption style.
