- they need to play, fight, develop sexual behavior
begin house training - because learning comes easy
- negative experiences can desocialize an animal\
- make all 1st experiences pleasant especially visits to vet. they will remember this forever
4th stage of dog/cat life
Juvenile: 12 weeks through adult
- social bonds formed and physically mature
- they will learn hierarchy in groups
- they will begin to explore the world
- desocialization can occur during this period - kids tease and poke through fence can create an aggressive or fearful dog
