What is firstly injected into the body to begin the vaccination process
A small amount of dead or inactive pathogen is injected into the body
Secondly what happens with the antigen
The pathogen has an antigen on its surface
Thirdly what does the white blood cell do to the antigen
White blood cells detect the antigen as a foreign body
Fourthly what does the white blood cells produce
White blood cells produce antibodies which lock onto the antigen destroying it.
Fifthly what is produced
Memory white blood cells are produced.
Sixthly what prevents re infection
If the pathogen re-enters the body, the antibodies are mass produced very quickly, preventing re-infection.
