- failure to comply w/patient privacy requirements
- being disruptive in a pharmacy and interfering with patient care
- engaging in a relationship with a patient that is a boundary violation
- failing to maintain safeguards against drug diversion
- failing to respond to a dispensed error to protect the health and safety of the patient
- delegating a task in the practice of pharmacy to someone who’s not adequately trained to perform it
- failure by the pharmacist in charge to ensure that pharmacy interns and techs are currently and properly registered
- failing to exercise professional judgement in determining whether a prescription meets legal requirements prior to dispensing
How many hours of practical experience are required to become a pharmacist?
1500 hours
What happens if an applicant fails the NAPLEX 3 times?
The applicant must complete an additional 1000 hours of practical experience prior to taking the exam again.
On what day do pharmacist licenses expire?
December 31st every year
What if a new pharmacist got his license on or after October 1st?
He won’t need to renew until Dec 31st of the following year
What are the CE requirements?
A minimum of 15 contact hours or 1.5 CEU must be completed every year
Can a pharmacy tech perform tasks restricted to a pharmacy tech prior to becoming licensed?
Yes as a trainee. A trainee may work as a tech without a license for up to 9 months while training.
