What is VKH
Idiopathic multi systems autoimmune disease featuring inflammation of melanocytes containing tissues such as Ives, ear and meninges

Acute Uveitis phase in VKH
Bilateral granulomatous anterior and multifocal posterior uveitis with diffuse choroidal infiltration

0.2-0.5% after injury
(2 wk - 3 month)
0.01% after surgery
Histology feature in SO
Infiltration of the choroid by lymphocytes and scattered aggregation of epitheloid cells, many of which contain fine granules of melanin
DF nodules- a granuloma situated between Bruch membrane and RPE
Acute uveitis
sudden in onset and of limited duration, resolving within 3 months,
Recurrent uveitis
repeated episode separated by untreated inactive periods
Chronic uveitis
persistent duration, with relapse less than 3 months after discontinuation of treatment
Remission
inactivity (no visible cells) for 3 months or longer
