S+S of lower UTIs
Frequency, Sudden urge, Pain on urination, Haematuria, Fever
Treatment of uncomplicated lower UTI
3 day course of trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin
Treatment of complicated lower UTIs
5 day course of trimethoprim or nitrofurantoin
S+S of upper UTIs
Fever, Pain on urination, Loin pain, Frequency, Vomiting
Treatment of upper UTI
14 day course of co-amoxiclav
Test for UTI
Urine dipstick for protein, nitrates, blood
Urine culture
