E coli still predominates But also think of paeudomonas, Kelbsiella proteus citrobacter acinetobacter Gram positives (enterococci and stap aureus)

7-14 days of fluiroquinolones and tmp-smx (if susceptible) because prostate often involved
Treatment duration in chronic bacterial prostatitis
4-6 weeks treatment
Treatment duration in recurrences of chronic prostatitis
12 weeks
Treatment of xanthogeanulomatous pyelonephritis
Nephrectomy
Treatment of emphysematous pyelonephritis
Percutaneous drainage initially then possibly nephrectomy as needed
First line regimen for candida of the urinary tract
Fluconazole 200-400 mg/d for 14 days
