Not a UTI at all. An STD. Usually gonorrhea/chlamydia
Urethritis (infection of urethra)
Cystitis
Bladder infection
Having a penis, being pregnant, foley inserted, urological procedure, pyelonephritis
Complicated cystitis (bladder infection)
3 days of antibiotics
Uncomplicated cystitis (uncomplicated UTI)
7 days of antibiotics
Complicated cystitis (UTI)
10 days of antibiotics
Pyelonephritis
14 days of antibiotics
Perinephric abscess
> ________ WBC/hpf indicate a UTI

Discharge. Cervical discharge and tenderness
Urethritis
Treat asymptomatic bacteruria when pregnant with
Amoxicillin (1st line) or nitrofurantoin if pencillin allergic
With Asymptomatic bacteruria in pregnancy repeat
Urine screen
Treat with Bactrim, nitrofurantoin, or fosfomycin
UTI (cystitis)
Treat with ciprofloxacin or Ceftriaxone
Pyelonephritis

Person with pyelonephritis who doesn’t get better consider
Perinephric abscess
