Menses:
A
-happens the first 3-7 days of cycle
-statum functionalis is shed
-primary follicles begin to develop into secondary follicles

proliferative phase:
A
-lasts from days 6-13
-endometrium adds a new layer to the stratum BASILIS in antipiation of implantation of fertilized ovum

Secretory phase:
A
-occurs on day 14
-hormones from corpus luteum convert the stratum basilis to stratum functionalis
-if no pregnancy occurs, stratum functionalis is prepared to be released during menses
