  • England has a debt so they tax americans (Stamp Act).
  • France also loses money. Gets angry, seeks revenge. The bankruptcy is one of the causes of the revolution.

What was the Stamp Act?

A

They were taxes in order to pay for the 7 year war. Americans got angry because it wasn’t even a war for them and they wanted representation in the english government. “No taxation without representation!”

A

A protest because the English taxed the tea. East Indies trading co. sells cheaper tea. People can’t buy tea from other merchants.

A

There are meetings in Philadelphia. They send the king a letter of what happened in Boston. King sends soldiers. Battle of lexington.

A

A

Americans want to expand to the west where indians are. Both cultures are very different an americans reealize they can’t live in peace together. So they ask them to move to preservations (indian removal act) . Forced cherokees to move to Oregon and almost all of them die.
