What did John Locke say?
A
He believed we are good, we learn and that society can improve.
Said that the government has to protect our rights: life, religious liberty and property. If the government does not do this, people can rebel against it.

A
He was pessimistic. Said people are selfish, need a strong government and that peace is more important that people’s rights. Pro-absolutism.

He believed in freedom of speech and religion and in education.

The separation of powers:
- Judicial: judges, apply the law.
- Executive: check the laws.
- Legislative:write the laws.
