What is Polyuria?

A

Or diuresis is the production of an abnormally large amounts of urine.

What is Oliguria?

A

Decreased urinary output. Usually less than 500ml/day or 30ml/hr for an adult. Can indicate impaired blood flow to kidneys

What is frequency?

A

Voiding at frequent intervals, more than 4-6 times a day. Can indicate UTI, increased consumption of fluids, enlarged prostate, pregnancy or stress.

What is Dysuria?

A

When voiding is difficult or painful. Can be from UTI, bladder or urethra injury or decreased size of urethra.
