Types of infections
Local or systemic.
Local are limited to specific part of the body. If it spreads it can become systemic (can turn into sepsis)
What is Endrogenous?
Infection cause by organisms already in the body
What is Exogenous?
Caused by organisms external to the body.
What is a specific defence against infection?
Acquired immunity. Protects from specific, identifiable, foreign agent. Develop response that is stored if re-exposure occurs.
What is a non-specific defence?
Innate/ not immunity. Protects from pathogens & foreign substances the same way every time.
What are the 3 stages of inflammatory response?
