Explain how mechanisation of farming causes people to move from the countryside into the city.
Mechanisation of farming means less labour is required. Therefore people move to the city to find jobs, where there is a higher proportion of jobs.

- Higher living standards (e.g. Electricity and tap water)
- Greater access to healthcare and education
- More jobs meaning higher chance of employment
- Better pay

Pressure on land which means people move away from the countryside into towns and cities instead.
