what are the three primary sources of waste in urban areas?
Industrial Waste - any waste produced in the manufacturing process.
Commercial Waste - any waste produced by business
personal waste - and waste produced by private homes
what is a waste stream?
the flow of waste from its origin through to its eventual disposal.
waste streams vary on many factors?
ECONOMIC - richer people tent to consume more jobs, so more developed countries produce more waste.
LIFESTYLES - amount of waste and type depend on whether people live in a city or country. urban dwellers produce more waste than rural residents.
ATTITUDES - some people may have a throw away culture and wont reuse things such as clothing. increase concerns about health cause people to throw away more food.
