High land prices which people can’t afford. This leads to squatter settlements/slums. 53% of Nigerians live in urban slums
Rapid urbanisation - housing in developed
High house prices, housing crisis which leads to segregation. Lower QOL in lower income areas.
Definition of segregation
The separation of humans into group, based on characteristics. This is often based on ethnicity, religion or socio-economic factors (e.g.wealth)
Rapid urbanisation - transport and pollution in developed country
Higher strain on transport systems. Traffic very bad. London - 25% of all emissions come from transport of ppl/goods. Average London driver spends 101 hours a year in traffic. Expansion of the ULEZ reduced pollutants by 26%.
