Upper Extremeries Flashcards
Glenohumeral ligament
Anterior side between Glenoid cavity of scapula and head of humerus.
Shoulder stability, has three parts inferior superior and medial
Coracoclavicular ligament
Between clavical and corocoid process if scapula.
Helps with movement if pectoral girdle
Coracoacromial ligament
Between corocoid process and acromion. Strong triangular band.
Stabilizes superior humeral head
Subscapularus
O: Subscapular fossa of scapula
I: lesser tubercle of humerus and central part of capsule of shoulder joint
A: medially rotates and stabilizes head of humerus in Glenoid cavity
Infraspinatus
O: infraspinous fossa of scapula
I: mid part of the greater tubercle of humerus and capsule of shoulder
A: lateral rotation and stabilizer of humeral head in Glenoid cavity.
Abducts the humerus
Teres minor
O: upper 2/3 of dorsal surface of auxiliary border of scapula
I: capsule of shoulder joint and inferior part of greater tubercle of humerus
A: laterally rotates the arm draws humerus towards Glenoid cavity
Supraspinatus
O: supraspinous fossa of scapula
I: superior part of greater tubercle and capsule of shoulder joint
A: abducts the arm and acts to stabilize the humeral head in the Glenoid cavity
Deltoid anterior fibers
O: superior surface of lateral 1/3 clavical
I: deltoid Tuberosity
A: flexion and medial rotation of the arm
Deltoid medial fibers
O: lateral border of acromion process of scapula
I: deltoid Tuberosity
A: abducts the arm
Deltoid posterior fibers
O: lower border of the crest of spine of the scapula
I: deltoid Tuberosity
A: extends the arm , laterally rotates
