Believed belonged and behaved
- to be a Christian meant a person believes in Jesus Christ, it means the person belongs to the community of believers in Christ, and that the person behaved by the standards of love and kindness within Christianity

No.
- miracles cannot produce faith but they can reinforce or deepen the faith that is already there
What two things need to happen to provide meaningful service
Awareness vs. Assumption
Information vs. Ignorance
And
Activity vs. Apathy
Doing vs. Despair
What does this mean?
Awareness vs. Assumption
Information vs. Ignorance
And
Activity vs. Apathy
Doing vs. Despair
- Awareness vs. Assumption - knowing what is needed to perform good service
- information vs ignorance - getting the information on how to do the service needed
- activity vs. Apathy - being invested in helping and wanting to help
- doing vs despair - the actual doing part and not giving up if it becomes overwhelming
What are the four circles of service
- Personal (friends and family - the people that see it most directly)
- Local (neighbourhood, town, or city - can be seen and noticed)
- National ( country or heritage group - not seen by anybody but still important)
- Global ( the needs of others around the world - not seen by anybody but still important)
What were the two types of prayer
Intercessory – praying for the use of others, communal or individual
Petitionary – praying for personal needs
What are the four components of prayer?
Adoration – praise, honouring the nature and saving acts of God
Confession – of sin and asking for forgiveness
Thanksgiving – showing gratitude for the blessings of life
Supplication – asking for those things we need (supplies)
How does the Lord’s prayer show us the pattern of prayer Jesus was teaching his followers?
One – he begins by addressing God acknowledging relationship with God
Two– he makes yourself aware of God‘s nature and will be attentive to what God has revealed
Three - he concludes by asking for what you need rather than simply what you want keep in mind God’s will and make your request so I’m with God’s will
What is the purpose of the word amen
Amen is based on a Hebrew word that can be translated to truly and functions as an agreement to the words of the prayer that has just been stated
Why did Jesus use parables to teach?
One – they were relatable to every day life in that time
Two – they were more engaging
Three – they were more memorable than me statements and painted a picture of what the kingdom of heaven would be
