UNIT V Air & Expeditionary Task Force Modules Flashcards
These modules are a method of packaging command and control, operational mission and Expeditionary Combat Support forces for presentation to a combatant commander through the commander, Air Force forces.
The AETF Modules
The AETF force modules consists of six scalable, modular elements:
Open the Airbase Command & Control Establish the Airbase Generate the Mission Operate the Airbase Robust the Airbase
The AETF force modules are all built on the following basic planning assumptions (Keep them in mind):
Runway & Taxi must be supportable Water source potable Fuel available General Vehicles Munitions storage Population Flow supportable
What are the Approximate population flow
24 hrs: 150
48 hrs: 550
C + 14 : 2000
C+ 30 : 3000
This force module provides the capabilities to open the airbase, regardless of the follow on mission.
Open the Airbase
This module contains capabilities to establish an AEW command and control structure which includes: maintenance, mission support, ops, and medical staff groups.
Command and Control
The Command and Control FM provides minimum basic initial command and control capability, and is estimated to be IOC __ hours after arrival at the deployed location
16
This module contains limited forces to bring the base to a initial operating capability, and is expected to be IOC approximately 4 days after arrival at the deployed location
Establish the Airbase
This mission module contains 13 packages, and contain weather, intelligence, operations support, maintenance supervision, and communications. Within 36 hours of initial arrival, this module will have embedded sustainability for up to 30 days of ops.
Generate the Mission
This force module contains mission support forces needed to achieve full operating capability. This module is estimated to be IOC in approximately 7 days after arrival
Operate the Airbase
This force module contains those support forces that would typically not arrive until 30 DAYS after operation of airbase is established
Robust the Airbase
