They were aided by a cloned Enigma machine. Cloned Enigma machine. The Enigma, this is the Enigma code is the secret code that the Germans used. They utilized Radar. But the British had invested in it, believed in the technology and between the, the radar and this Enigma machine, they will be able to combat. They stopped Hitler from advancing

Why did the Nazis’ lose in Operation Barbarossa?

A

Russians had more troops than the Germans do. They also ran into some of same issues as Neapolitan with supply lines and winter. The troops did not have adequate clothing. The vehicles were not designed to operate in weather like this causing Hitler to take significant losses.

What is Central Planning?

A

Stalin has used central planning. He created a series of five-year plans. In the first five years they produced steel, tanks, this many bullets, this many tons of coal. Hitler didn’t realize is that Stalin is sitting on a ton of weapons and a ton of troops

A

They studied World War 1, why America had to get involved in World War One. They feel if we weren’t selling weapons the sinking of the Lusitania would have not been a big deal. They determine the Neutrality Acts were required.

A

They were created by the Nye Commission it stated the United States will no longer sell weapons to countries at war or give loans to nations at war.

A

The Cold War is this period after World War Two is completed. The US and Soviet Union are opposites we call a Cold War because it doesn’t go into a hot war. It is a war of spying, ideas, sabotage, and indirect conflict.

How did the perspectives of Joseph Stalin and Harry Truman affect the flow of the Cold War?

A

Stalin wanted to spread communism to nearby countries to turn them communist. Truman He wants to replace balance of power with internationalism. Internationalism is where every country is more equal and if one country behaves badly, becomes an aggressor or in a belligerent, than the rest of the world is going to stand up to them collectively. It calls this internationalism. Truman wants self-determination for people.

A

It provides a grant to be used for growing and repair nations. It is designed to rebuild infrastructure and manufacturing.

  1. The requirement for budgetary supervision.Now that we no longer needed them to fight Hitler we wanted receipts.
  2. It was basically an American Gift card, they were required to use it to buy good from american manufacturers only.

An arms race is when countries attempt to stockpile weaponry at a greater rate and with more speed than their opponents. The arms race between the US and The Soviet Union during the cold war was a matter of nuclear weapons and intelligence

A

The Soviet Union backs the communist North Korean forces and the US backs the South Korean forces. Once the US was able to push North Korea back they started to push back further into North Korea making them our forever enemy and making China mad.

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Nasa is going to be our organization that deals with building the rockets, putting together the satellites, making the plan solar, lunar exploration period of outer space.

Detente means the clenching of the fist, clenching of the fist, an aggressive stance towards each other has nearly killed us all.

A

West Germany (Federal German Republic) is going to look like ultimately like America, capitalism will set route there. East Germany will not be the side controlled by the Soviets. That side will become known as the German Democratic Republic.
