A

It was a game changer it allowed the ability to have a painting in your home, copies of the Bible, and it allowed for scientific works to be transport transmitted. It causes the Renaissance and causes the Enlightenment because people have access to information.

A

The Italian economy focused on conspicuous consumption. Conspicuous consumption is consumption that you can see. showing off money was seen as very bad. Number one, somebody might come rob you because there’s really no, there’s no governments per se and there’s not much in the way of local police forces. But also it’s seen as showy.

A

Henry the 8th needed a male heir and wanted to get a divorce which was denied by the pope. He sets up an agreement with Parliament and made a deal to give us some of his powers and convert some churches to be granted permission for the divorce.

A

In the old French Regime, there were 3 estates that determined rights and obligations under royal law. The first estate is clergy, second is noble men and everyone else is the third estate. The first estate gives moral authority to the second estate. The second estate is gives instruction to the third estate.

England ignored the Colonies for a very long time and that is that this distance has led to feelings of independence for the Colonies.

They tried the Sugar stamp tax and to control smuggling and began confiscating goods. They also tried Americans in military court. The mistakes they made were they thought they could tax the Americans after they ignored them for so long while many of them didn’t pay taxes.

A

It wasn’t a Massacre only 5 people died. It was just a propaganda spread by Paul Revere because they wanted to make everyone mad, so they didn’t have to pay taxes.

Once the French saw what the Americans were fighting for and how basically the grass was greener on the other side, they wanted some too and the French Intellectuals began to analyze the government and was not happy with the outcome.

A

The peasant’s aka 3rd estate that rallied together and formed this group when they were tired of getting shut out of Estates General meetings.

A

They were locked out of the building where the Estates General was meeting so they found another place to meet, and they found an indoor tennis court. They wanted a basic constitution that included all men should be free and equal and there should be religious tolerance.

A

The bastille kind of reminds me of Guantanamo Bay. It is a prison where a person is sent when they disappear and never come out. It was a symbol of oppression because it was like a pit, and you could get thrown in the bottom of that pit for just speaking your mind.

A

Their families were starving, the cost of bread was astronomical they couldn’t afford it to feed their children. So, they went to Versailles and made them come back with them to see what was going on.

A

This is in 1793-1794. After the king and queen were executed Robespierre and the Committee on Public Safety got a little drunk on their power and started sending everyone to the guillotine for everything. Everyone was snitching on each other and accusing each other of stuff and getting people sent to the National Razor. The committee got scared they were next so they threw Robespierre under the bus who tried to die by suicide but he wasn’t unsuccessful so they temporarily patched him up well enough so he could live to be beheaded.

A

A French general who seized power of much of Europe and ruled from 1799 to 1814. He died in exile after he was defeated by Russian and Prussian forces.

A

It is a system of laws created by Napoleon. It included equality for all MALE citizens and universal male suffrage allowing all MEN the right to vote.

A

Napoleon snatches the crown from the pope and crowned his own self to show the Pope his crooked butt was not the boss of him.

A

That is when Napoleon basically said England is not allowed at the cool kids table. Every one that is friends and trades with Napoleon or under his rule is not allowed to be England’s friend … Meaning they are not allowed to trade with England.It turns the wealthy against him.

What military defeats lead to the downfall of Napoleon?

A

Russia, they caused Napoleon to drain all his resources and become engulfed in debit by hiding when he tried to pick a fight with him. We he finally gave up all his best fighters were dead, and he was broke. Even though he still had supporters his military was down from 614K to 40K. After being exiled several times, he finally ended up passing away peacefully on an island.
