Bilineal Ancestry
A bilineal system is one in which two lines of descent, matrilineal and patrilineal, are both socially significant.
Serial Monogamy
When an individual has dated multiple people, but only once at a time
Monogamy
The practice of being married to one person at a time
Polygamy
Is a marriage involving more than two people married at the same time

When a husband is married to multiple wives, this version of polygamy is more accepted
Polyandry
When a woman is married to more than 1 husband
Bridewealth
bridewealth, is money, property, or another form of wealth paid by a groom or his family to the woman or the family of the woman he will be married to.
Dowry
It is property or money from a brides side of the family to give to her husband’s side, on behalf of their marriage.
