Enlightenment
Process of providing insight. Is the increasing of knowledge and dissipate ignorance. Disappearance of ignorance.
Reason
The human need for seeking the truth, problem solving, faith and that the result will be satisfied.
Human nature
Characteristics like thinking, feeling, acting that humans naturally have.
Autonomy
One who gives oneself their own law. Like some sort of ruler
Popular government
Government developed by the people (voting)
Universalism
Particular doctrines which group people. (religion, healthcare for Canadians)
Solidarity
No nation can succeed without another. We stand together and to run a nation requires help from others.
Humanism
A perspective that emphasizes the value of helping one another.
Progress
The idea that the world can become better in terms of everything.
Age of enlightenment
A movement in 18th century Europe and American colonies. Reforming society using reason rather than superstition and proving items with science rather than superstition and church values.
Salon
Places were middle to upper class people would gather to debate and talk about treaties or papers.
Revolution
Sudden marked change in something or a government overthrow.

Economic, cultural, political, musical, technological, scientific, athletic, art revolutions

Changing from capitalist to nationalist
