Ethos purpose
Speakers/ Authors use this technique to demonstrate that they are credible and trustworthy.
Logos purpose
Speakers/Authors use this technique to offer clear,rational ideas; to be logical.

In reality, he uses all of them. In order to make a strong claim and argument, his rhetorical situation contains each rhetorical situation.
When writing the Declaration of Independence, why was the rhetorical situation and awareness so important to the founding fathers like Thomas Jefferson and John Adams?
In order for the succession from Great Britain, the patriots needed a strong argument and firm dissolution, setting forth their desires in a concise rhetorical analysis of their griefs to King George and the parliament.
