1754 - a plan proposed by Benjamin Franklin that aimed to unite the 13 colonies for trade, military, another purposes. The plan was turned down by the colonies and the Crown
What was the Seven Years’ War?
(1756-1763) Known in America as the French and Indian War, a war between the French & their Indian allies and the English that proved the English to be the more dominant force of what was to be the United States both commercially and in terms of controlled regions.
Who was Edward Braddock?
A British commander during the French and Indian War, he attempted to capture Fort Duquesne in 1755 but was defeated by the French and the Indians, during this battle Braddock sustained wounds that killed him
What was the Peace of Paris?
1763 - Official “on paper” ending of the French and Indian War, removed France from America.
What was Pontiac’s Rebellion?
Occurred in 1763 due to Britain’s policies after the French and Indian War, involved Britain and many Indian tribes, lasted for 3 years.
What was the Proclamation of 1763?
Passed by Britain after the French and Indian War in order to stabilize relations with the Native American tribes; it didn’t allow colonists to settle or go beyond the Appalachian Mountains.
