1. To ensure openness and fairness in the selection of a supplier. This is done by having clear requirements, clear instructions on the invite to tender to ensure all providers have equal chance of success. By adhering to the process, the buying organisation can provide proof of fair play should the need arise.
2. To get the most appropriate supplier in place for the project by defining requirements and selection criteria for the bids. A clear scoring system is used to evaluate all received bids providing confidence that the most appropriate supplier is awarded the project.
3. To ensure the supplier is responsible and aligns their bid proposal with the buying organisation’s requirements.
