What is a vein?
A blood vessel that returns blood to the heart; thinner walls than arteries
Distinguish HDL and LDL
HDL- high density lipoproteins, substances in the blood that transport cholesterol to the heart
LDL- low density lipoproteins, substances in the blood deposit cholesterol in body cells
What is an Aneurysm?
A weakened area of a blood vessel
Distinguish between Benign and Malignant
Benign- a non cancerous tumor
Malignant- cancerous tumor
Define Heart Attack
The death of cardiac muscle caused by a lack of blood flow to the heart
What is an Artery?
A blood vessel that carried blood away from the heart
Define Atherosclerosis
Disease in which fat is deposited in artery walls which narrows the arteries and increases blood pressure
What is a Stroke?
Blocked or broken blood vessel in the brain that may result in disability, paralysis, or death
What are Coronary Arteries?
They supply nutrients and oxygen to the heart muscle
