What are the elements considered in the early evidence kit?
- urine sampling : 2 samples and hour apart
- mouth rinse (oral penetration)
- skin swabs
- discarded items: tissues, condoms
How soon after the initial account (sexual offence) will a sexual offences liaison officer (solo) make contact with the victim?
Within 24hrs
In what cases is consent deemed to be not given?
- alcohol or substance
- threats of violence
- unlawfully detained
- deceived
- impersonation
- consent by a third party on behalf
- asleep or unconscious
Requirements of rape (section 1)?
Penetrating vagina, anus or mouth, with penis, without consent
Are sexually constructed penises and vaginas accepted as rape?
Yes
Requirements for sexual assault by penetration (section 2)?
Penetration of vagina or anus (not mouth) with any part of the body or anything else without consent
Requirements for sexual assault (section 3)?
Penetration of vagina, anus or mouth in any sexual way,
Touching of the victim in a sexual way
Having any other sexual physical contact (directly or through clothing) and whether a body part or implement
Ejaculating onto the victim
Emitting urine or saliva onto the victim sexually
What is a younger child in terms of sexual offences?
0-12 (not yet 13)
What is an older child in terms of sexual offences?
13-15
Can a younger child (0-12) every consent to a sexual act?
No
What are older children prohibited from doing sexually? (13-15)
