Unit 6 Flashcards
Stimulus control
A condition when some dimension of a response differs in the presence and absence of a designated stimulus
Discriminative stimulus
A stimulus that evokes responding due to a history of differential reinforcement
Stimulus delta
A stimulus present when responding is not reinforced
Simple discrimination
A single dimension of one stimulus, defines the SD
Conditional discrimination
2+ dimensions of one stimulus, or of 2+ separate stimuli, define the SD
Stimulus generalization
Tendency of a learned response to occur in the presence of stimuli, not present during training, but are similar to the SD that was present
Conditioned motivating operation (CMO)
A MO that is dependent on a prior learning hx
Unconditioned motivating operation (UMO)
A motivating operation that is not dependent on a prior learning hx
