About the same time period as Isaiah, lived Micah. He was of humble origins from the
countryside of Jerusalem. Isaiah was well educated, Micah was not. Micah’s sympathy was
with the poor as he was one of them. His language was blunt and uncompromising. His
passionate condemnation of those who oppress the poor reveals intimate knowledge of the sufferings of the property.
