The deep peace of God. A phrase the Israelites used when the first saw the promised land. To them it wasn’t a land, it was a gift form God.

Places of refuge. A custom to allow guilty accidental or unintentional killing from being attacked by the victims family for blood vengeance
Sanctuary
The Israelites renew the covenant at this place. (When Joshua is about to die, he is telling the Israelites to never forget the covenant, and if they do there will be great consequences. Before he dies the covenant is renewed.
Shechem
A tribal leader, a hero. God brings forth a her, tribal leader called a judge. Given to help the people get back on the right road
Judge
One of the twelve major judges. She is referred as a judge, and a prophet. She is the judge of the tribe of Naphtali, helping them with there problem. After the people fell out of Gods way. She goes to war to fight.
Deborah
One of the 12 major judges. The judge of Manasseh. An angel arrived to him in his sleep to go and fight for the people, he does not wish to, but God tells him that he assures a victory. So then he goes to destroy the alter for the god Baal.
Gideon
Gideon’s son. After the death of Gideon he was assigned king, but due to his savage behavior he was excluded from the list of kings and judges.
Abimelech
One of the last judges. Did not lead a tribe, or an army. A very very strong who fights against the Palestinians. Gets his strength from his hair
Samson
A man or woman who consecrated to God from birth. Never to touch strong drink, or cut his/her hair.
Nazirite
Is from Israel, but after famine hit, then she was forced to leave with her husband and her two son. When her husband died, she had to raise her sons.They both married. There names were Ruth and Oprah. She took them on a journey and when it was time to leave Ruth decided to stay with her, and when time came to leave. Ruth desired to stay.
Naomi
The mother of obed who become the father of Jessie who in turn becomes the father of king David.
Ruth
A kings men of Naomi late husband and a man of wealth. He will protect Ruth and will Mary not only out of custom but out of love.
