What is the metes and bounds method?

A

Metes means to measure distances
Starting from a Point of beginning (POB),
Following the compass directions or angles (Bounds)
and point of ending to describe the property.

What is the rectangular survey system?

A

Sometimes called the government survey. Based on principal meridian lines that run north and south, and base lines that run east and west. They are referenced by the degrees of longitude and latitude.
