He favored the common man more than the elite. He was the Common man’s president
What was the Nullification Crisis?
After the gov passed the Tariff of Abominations, South Carolina didn’t like it and claimed they could nullify federal laws. SC threatened to secede from the Union and AJ responded with the Force Act. This strengthened federal power.
Why did the Indian Removal Act happen?
Colonists wanted the Native’s land and resources.
What did Worcester v. Georgia prove
The Indian Removal Act forced natives off their lands. The Cherokee sued to keep the land, but the court favored relocating the natives to present-day. It proved the state didn’t have the power to take native land, but this was vetoed by AJ.
