What is the role of an Epidemeologist?
An Epidemeologist studies the patterns of health and illness at the population level. They study the outbreaks of diseases to find out the factors which effect the diseases transmission.
What is a Bacteria?
A single celled organism without a nucleus.
What is a Virus?
A non-living organism which can only reproduce within a living cell.
What is a Fungi?
A simple organism including mushrooms and yeast that grow as single cells or thread like filaments.
What is a Protozoa?
A single celled organism with a nucleus.
What is a Multi-Cellular Parasite?
A living organism, that can live inside intestinal track or blood stream.
What is a vector?
An living organism which can transmit diseases to other organisms. E.g. Mosquitoes, rabid Dogs and more.
What does Epidemic mean?
Unusually high number of cases for a disease in an area.
What does Sporadic mean?
Occasional occurrences of a disease.
What does Endemic mean?
A normal number of cases for a disease in an area.
What does Pandemic mean?
A Global outbreak of the disease.
