When the introns (Non-coding region) are cut out of the primary mRNA transcript and the exons (Coding region) are spliced together. This makes the mature mRNA transcript.

What are introns and exons?
A
Introns are non-coding region in a primary mRNA transcript, they are found dispersed between the exons, which are the coding regions of the mRNA.
