Unit 4: Stimulus Control Flashcards
MO is an antecedent condition that has two effects
Value altering: MO momentarily alters the effectiveness of a stimulus as a reinforcer or punisher
Behavior altering: MOs alter the momentary frequency of any bx that has been reinforced or punished by the stimulus whose value (effectiveness) has been altered by those events in the past
Motivating operation (MO)
EOs related to reinforcement are MOs which increase the value of other forms of reinforcement. They evoke he type of bx which has been reinforced by those events in the past.
Establishing Operations (EO)
An antecedent stimulus evokes a response; that is there is an immediate and momentary increase in the frequency of the response which only lasts while the stimulus is present
