How did William control england?
William conquered England in 1066. He used castles, his army and the Feudal System to control the country.
how did the church challenge Henry II?
Henry fell out with his Archbishop, Becket. He was forced to submit to the power of the Church on this occasion.
Why was the magna carta so significant?
King John was forced to give his barons a greater say in the running of the country. The Magna Carta was the first legal document to say the King should not be all powerful.
Who was Edward I?
Edward was a powerful military leader but despite his skills he was unable to bring the Scots under English control.
Does Richard III deserve this poor repesentation?
Richard is accused of claiming the throne illegally and being involved in the deaths of his nephews. However he was seen as a good leader in the north of England.
