Carbon Flux - Photosynthesis
Removes co2 from the atmosphere and fixes it in producers as organic compounds
CF - Respiration
Releases CO2 into the atmosphere when OC are digested in organisms
CF - Decomposition
releases c products into the air or soil when organic matter recycled after an organism’s death
CF - Gaseous dissolution
The exchange of gases between the atmosphere and ocean
CF - Lithification
compaction of c-containing substances into fossils and rocks in the earth’s crust
CF - Combustion
releases carbon gases when HCs are burned in oxygen as a fuel source
