Q

What does Brothers and Sisters to us address?

A

the U.S. bishops recognize that the life of the Church is enriched by its racial identity

22
Q

What does Strangers No Longer: Together on the Journey of Hope address?

A

identified 5 social justice principles that guide the Catholic perspective on migration and immigration issues: people have the right to find opportunities in their homeland, people have the right to migrate to support themselves and their families, sovereign nations have the right to control their borders, refugees and asylum seekers should be afforded protection, and the human dignity and human rights of undocumented migrants and immigrants should be respected

23
Q

How can families play a role in building a culture of life?

A

We all should proclaim the Gospel, pray, serve others through works of charity, respect all people. Parents specifically must lovingly accept all children and teach them the gospel of life

24
Q

How should we treat those with differing abilities? What can we learn from these people?

A

We are committed to ending discrimination against persons with disabilities, both in our Church and society. We can learn independence, joy, uniqueness, and much more from them

25
The Church teaches that three elements determine the morality of any human action: object, intention, and circumstance. Explain how these elements apply to the act of euthanasia
The object in inherently sinful: taking an innocent life. No matter how noble the intention is, or what the circumstances are, the object is still incredibly bad which makes the whole thing bad
26
Why does the Church seek to end the death penalty?
It is taking life. We don't know God's plan for a person's life, no matter what they do. Additionally, DNA evidence is rarely used in cases, so we're almost never 100% sure if a person committed a crime
27
