in 1754 in New York, Benjamin franklin gave the idea of a union, the albany union, and they voted to discuss it
What was the Albany Plan of Union and why did it fail?
a plan to place the colonies under a more centralized government; many of the colonies rejected the plan so it failed

impressment of the colonists to join the british navy, quartering acts, taxes, proclamation line

Also known as the Treaty of Paris of 1763, france gave up all its territories in North America to the British, the french still had canada

forbid the colonists from settling west of the Appalachian mountains to prevent disputes with NA’s; the colonists didn’t listen, disputes arose

the war was expensive and the British were left with a lot of debt. the British thought that having the colonists paying outrageous amounts of taxes it would all be payed for; colonists did not like this
